1968 Norton Scrambler 750

1968 750cc Norton Scrambler

From 1964 to 1969, Norton built a British version of a dirt bike for the US off-road, desert racer market. Norton made roughly 3,000 of these bikes using the Atlas 750 cc engine (actually 745 cc) on a modified Matchless G85CS scrambler frame with Norton wheels and front forks for better ground clearance. As such, early model where listed as a Atlas Scrambler and later model like this one as the Street Scrambler. There is reportedly only about 300 of these Scramblers still in existence, which makes it a rare, classic, vintage bike. Almost everywhere I go, other bikers are drawn to it trying to figure out what it is. One of the key attractions is that it is so clean; head light, tail light, no blinkers or windshield.

Except for the mufflers and paint job, this bike is all original including the Amal Concentric 930 carbs and Lucas ignition. The bike was garage stored since 1980 due to my knee operation, so it only has 2,376 original miles on it.

The engine serial number (VIN#) is G15CS/123978. The cycle is located East of Philadelphia, PA. Asking $7,000 (bank check).
