1954 AJS 500cc model 20 Twin. "Black Beauty" featured in July/Aug 2014 issue of AJS
& Matchless News. Complete "ground up" restoration to stock as it rolled off AMC's production line 60 years ago! Only deviation is well-hidden electronic regulator
& modern silicone sealers contributing to a 100% oilleak-free motorcycle (even from the notorious pressed steel primary chaincase!)
New rings, camshafts & followers, all bearings gaskets & seals plus new carb parts make for a sweet-running, first-kick-starting engine as only these early AMC twins were renowned for. Magneto, dynamo, gearbox
& chromatic speedo all overhauled. New clutch basket & plates. New silencers & header pipes. New rims and spokes. NOS seat. Tank cleaned inside and sealed with Caswell epoxy kit. Scarce-as-hens teeth chromed side parking lights; only used from 1954 to 1958, included. No expense spared. Matching numbers.
