Les' Triumph Trophy TR6 650 - UK Spec

This UK Spec Triumph Trophy TR6 650 was built in England on Feb 7 1969 and shipped to Bernie Nickelson's, Sask on Feb 14 1969. For reason unknown the bike eventually made its way to Edmonton where it was acquired by a friend who's plan was to restore it but as what usually happens life got in the way and it sat for many years before I managed to pry it out of his hands.

I acquired it in the late 1990's as a basket case, and it was something I had to build in order to replicate what I rode back in Ireland as a teenager in the late 1960s (see attached pic T90 from 1968).

I wanted it done right so I enlisted the services of Cooper Motorcycles in Edmonton to do a complete ground up restoration and what a beauty it turned out to be. The majority of the work was done in house with the majority of the parts being sourced from Walridge Motors and Britcycle.

Once complete the bike's first public showing was at the CVMG NORAL Show and Shine in Old Strathcona, Edmonton where it took the People's Choice Award for best British making all of the effort and cost worthwhile.

Unfortunately turns out it was too nice for me to ride and I was never comfortable riding it, so after 22 yrs and only 2,200 miles on the rebuild I sold it on BAT Auction site to a guy in California who wanted it to match his Triumph TR6 sports car.

However the bug has never left me and as such I am now looking for a mid to late '60s Triumph Tiger 90 (350), so if anyone knows of one for sale????????
