1958 Ariel Square Four
This 1958 Square Four is pristine, inside and out, and looks as if it could have come off the Ariel production line this month.
The chassis underwent a detailed cosmetic restoration by a well recognized Ariel specialist, including beautifully-done, frame, paint
& chrome work, with all fasteners either chrome or zinc plated, wheels with new tires fitted.
The engine had not been run for many years, so it was totally disassembled; refurbishing, replacing or repairing as needed, with some modern updates:
12v negative earth replaces the 6v positive earth system. The entire wiring harness was replaced, a visually period-correct high-output alternator unit (300 Watts) from ironhorsespares.uk replaced the non-functioning dynamo. Electronic ignition is fitted in the original distributor and the solid state voltage regulator/rectifier is installed in the original voltage regulator housing. The bike starts easily with the first or second kick, idles well and runs smoothly through the four-speed gearbox.
