1972 Norton Commando Interstate
Sold 11/18/2013
1972 Norton Commando Interstate with one year only Combat engine. Just completed full frame up restoration. Every seal, bearing, and bushing has been replaced. All parts have been painted, polished or plated. Bike is better than new condition.
All Norton logos have been painted onto the body work replacing any decals. Engine has been rebuilt with cylinder head being port and polished. New Premier AMAL 32mm Carbs. New Pazon ignition system and podtronics for charging. All signal and brake lights have been changed out to LED.
New TT100 tires mounted on new rims and SS spokes. Hubs have been polished with new brakes front and rear.
The engine numbers do not match the frame. This was a early production of the first Combat engine (DEC 71) that failed the main bearing and cases
until super blends were introduced later that year. Dealer would have replaced case to repair the failed crank. Transmission case number matches frame number.
Selling due the fact that I like restoring more than riding only 150kms on since
finished.
