This filter is for use on the crankcase breather vent when the original system is modified on these bikes, which originally had a D shaped silver hose that was attached to the rear mudguard, exiting at the very rear of the bike. If this hose is removed when modifying a bike, another method of filtering the crankcase vapours must be found when removing it. Leaving the hole open to the atmosphere is not a good idea, since oily vapour can escape and dirt can be ingested. This item pushes directly onto the original alloy breather hose elbow at the rear of the primary case, and does an excellent job of filtration while looking good at the same time.
